Last month Google announced that it would be shutting down Google My Business (GMB) and associated Google+ pages of businesses that are not associated with user accounts and also not verified.
Having a GMB page enhances your SEO and allows users to find you and gather information about your business. Unlike other online business directories such as Yelp or CitySearch, information from your GMB page is often incorporated into and linked to directly in local search results. This makes your Practice more visible and gives you an advantage over competition that doesn’t have a verified and optimized page.
Google also announced in June that they will be unverifying any pages that have not posted any activity in over six months. So if you do have a verified page, make sure you post content such as photos, links or status updates somewhat frequently.
Now is a good time to check in on the status of your Google My Business/Google+ page and make sure that it is verified and optimized with complete and correct business information, keyword rich descriptions and images.
